📌 Welcome & Community Guidelines — please read

Welcome to Homestead Paradise! This is a place for homesteaders to help each other, swap what’s working, and grow together. A few simple ground rules keep it a good place for everyone:

:sheaf_of_rice: New here? Joining this community automatically gets you free access to the Homestead Paradise app — one free account unlocks both. Open the app →

  1. Be a good neighbor. Kindness first. We were all beginners once — no pile-ons, no snark, no making anyone feel dumb for asking.

  2. This is keeper-to-keeper help, not professional advice. Folks here share real experience, but we’re not vets, electricians, engineers, or canning-safety authorities. For anything involving animal health, electrical work, structural building, or canning and food safety, please confirm with the right professional or a tested source (your vet, a licensed electrician, USDA / National Center for Home Food Preservation guidelines, and so on). Our Smart Helper, Harold, follows the same rule.

  3. Keep it in the right category. Post where your topic fits so the folks who know it can find it — and so the next person searching the same thing lands in the right place.

  4. Real help, not spam. Share your experience freely, but no drive-by self-promotion or affiliate dumping. If you make or sell something genuinely useful and relevant, mention it honestly in context.

  5. Cite your sources on safety-critical stuff. If your advice could hurt someone or their animals if it’s wrong (medications, canning times, wiring), say where it comes from so folks can double-check.

  6. Your membership includes the free app. Being part of this community gets you free access to the Homestead Paradise app for tracking your flock, garden, preservation, and more. If you haven’t grabbed it yet, go for it.

Glad you’re here. Now pull up a chair and jump in. :sheaf_of_rice:
