How are you getting ready for the cold this winter?

Wood stove, solar on short days, insulation, that one water line you’re worried about.

What’s your setup, and what’s the one thing you still need to get done before it turns cold? A one-line answer is plenty.

Good question to put out there before the first freeze sneaks up on everyone.

My go-to this time of year: get a fresh bag of sand and salt by the door, wrap that one exposed pipe run I always forget about, and stack enough wood where I can reach it without slogging through mud.

The thing I still need to get done? Honestly, check every door and window seal. Doesn’t matter how good your heat source is if the cold’s just whistling right back in.

What’s the one pipe or spot on your place that keeps you up at night when the temperature drops?
